I loved Basilisk, the anime. I loved Basilisk, the manga. Basilisk, the movie on the big screen with actors with questionable make up and weird beard stubbles, did not come across nicely however. The concept certainly should work – two star crossed lovers each born in the opposite blood feuding ninja clan. [...]

The one thing that I love and … hate about Basilisk, is its characters. They aren’t invincible like most shounen action/adventure anime. If you poke them, they bleed – for a very long time. If they bear a grudge, it doesn’t go away due to one or two good deeds. [...]

One of the best thing about Song of Ice and Fire, is the different view points presented and understanding of the minds you might’ve hated previously. For example, Jaime – I used to think he is nothing but a rat incestuous bastard, a betrayer of men and kings ~ but his chapters in Storm [...]

Hotarubi tries to make good on her escape, but Saemon’s dagger hits home. With a sleigh of butterfly trickery, Hotarubi was still able to get away. Saemon returns to base, and when he saw Okoi’s killer hanging about and hearing Gennosuke’s subtle suggestion – he takes on Nenki’s face and returns to the [...]

A recap episode with Kyouhachizou Hattori recounting each battle to the Shogun and Master Hattori. There was a little blurp in the middle of the episode about the successors and the caretakers.

Oboro’s love for Gennosuke is a bit off the scale as she betrays her own clan in favor of the man leaving her. This episode of Basilisk turns the tide toward Kouga’s favor as Gennosuke finally learns of what’s been happening. With Saemon and Gyobu behind him, they set out to leave the [...]

Basilisk is now licensed by Funimation. Per their request, all three fansubbing groups involved with the project has stopped their work on it: #Anime-Kraze, #iy4ever-fansubs, and #katana_fansubs
I think it’s good enough to buy once the releases come in!

Damn, can this show get any more exciting? Hotblooded action with every episode without a dull moment! Okoi was trapped in the last episode by the Iga and Rousai comes in for a bit of questioning. Even though Okoi was in a seductive position, Rousai wasn’t taken, so Okoi pisses him off [...]

The people in Kouga couldn’t stand still and Hyoma wisely deduced what is really going on behind the scenes. Wanting to verify the truth, Gyobu and Zaemon waylaid Yashamaru and by casting his voice as Tenzen, Zaemon was able to fool Yashamaru and obtain the knowledge that the peace treaty is no more. [...]

Why is the beating still happenin?! Kouga’s village is attacked directly in this episode, and I can’t believe Hyoma just said “oh… it’s okay if 50 of our guys just got killed, they’re just generic pawns anyway. You guys can go.” Grr! So frustrating! The Kouga folks seem genuinely nice. [...]

A dinner party with intensity! Gennosuke can feel the danger as it’s palpitating in waves from the crowd of Iga while Oboro is oblivious and fawns over Gennosuke like a sweet doe =) Jousuke is also very aware of the danger, but he wanted to have as much fun as possible with Akeginu [...]

Usually, the first episode of an anime showcases the strength and hides the weakness. With Air, the show was strong throughout, with Basilisk, it’s getting better! In this episode, Gennosuke and Udono continues walking into the trap set by the Iga and throughout, the Iga are trying to stop the news from reaching [...]
