Joe’s American Bar and Grill
I think 3 guys, looking for food, shouldn’t go to Newberry Street. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to realize most of the money on the entree would be going toward renting the damn place, not to the world famous chef in the back.
Joe’s American Bar and Grill is your run-of-the-mill slightly upscale restaurant with good service, and slightly above average pricing. It has good decor, good looking servers, and a basket of “free” bread to go with your meal. It’s far from a suit required sit down restaurant, but it’s better than TGIF or Chili’s where the servers don’t really care about you.
Since the prices weren’t all that great, and I didn’t want to spend a bundle, I just ordered the day’s special - special pork chops with… special veggie. The special pork chop wasn’t all that special ~ I think what comes out of Po’s grill taste better than this “special” pork chop. Thus, 18.99 was highway robbery. Now, the focus of the entree, wasn’t the pork chops, but a the special veggie that came with the pork chop… they are called, “parsnips.” I can’t quite describe what the hell the veggie taste like… but it’s quite unique and fuckin nasty after 10 bites.
In any case, Joe’s Ameircan Bar and Grill may be the cheapest restaurant on Newberry, and if you’re stuck on the street and your friends are famished, might as well go to Joe’s for some “cheap” food with good service =)
sitIt wasn’t a jacket affair, but I must say the atmosphere wasn’t bad at all.
