Layer Cake (2004)
I don’t understand why so many reviewers love L4yer Cake! It’s such poop of a film that they had to use a sex symbol in order to sell the DVD.
The story started with Mr. X talking about life of a drug dealer, and how he survived in the business. Staying low keyed, deal only with friends, and know when to get out ~ Mr. X was at the end of his career (or so he thought), when he was suddenly dropped into a vast pool of shite. His boss got him to deal with a loud-mouth E dealer, who stole the E from some crazy Serb with a nasty assassin running about looking for it. All the while, the boss tried to get Mr. X to find the daughter of a friend who have gone missing… etc, etc… lotsa crazy things, and Mr. X have to deal with all of it!
I guess the movie itself isn’t bad… rather that I’m just pissed Sienna Miller was in the movie for all of … 30 seconds. Perhaps she couldn’t handle a bigger role, and all her parts were cut out. Meh, at the very least, it’s false advertisement! !! I suppose it’s very possible for those climbing the corportate ladder to identify their position within the Layer Cake movie and how cutthroat it all is… but I just can’t bring myself to like it.
