The Aviator (2004)
Q-u-a-r-a-n-t-i-n-e, quarantine.
The Aviator is a biopic presentation of Howard Hughes’ (Leonardo DiCaprio) incredible life. Though parts might be glamorized for Hollywood, there’s no doubt that the man kickass in his own right. It’s probably true, that people like him, walk the thin line between insanity and genius. Since it’s really a biographical moving picture, you can spoil yourself silly by visiting Wiki’s Howard Hughes profile!
Although nominated for tons of Oscars, The Aviator didn’t win Best Picture nor Best Actor. It is a good movie, and DiCaprio acted admirably, but the movie is great because of Howard Hughes. In retrospect, DiCaprio might not have been the best of choice for the movie due to his perpetual undeniable youthfulness. Early on in the movie, he works great as the young and headstrong heir, but when he got old and schizo, it became hard to believe. If only he could pull off being old and crazy, he would’ve won the Oscar.
Once again, great movie to watch just to learn who Howard Hughes is ~ it’s long, but well worth the time!
