Inside Man (2006)

Ahh, I’ve been waiting for some kind of inspiration before writing reviews for movies I watched recently, but alas, nothing came through my brain lately and I just gotta put something down. Inside Man, I had thought it’s going to be more involved in terms of political/insidious plotting than what was given in the movie. However great people are calling this, I see it as nothing more than an ingenious perfect bank robbery plan (which doesn’t really amount to much of anything), and an attempt at inserting something more.

The role played by Jodie Foster is really completely worthless. I’m going to ruin some of the movie for you all, but I don’t think it matters because it’s bad subplot. Basically, Clive Owen knows the secret of the bank owner, and that the bank owner been keeping a relic which would implicate him inside the bank that Clive is robbing. In order to keep the secret, ’secret,’ Jodie was hired to negotiate privately with Clive. … Worthless! It’s a perfect crime, and just watching it happen was pretty cool in itself, but - no, they had to add this subplot in.

Other than this minor problem, the movie played pretty well - and rather believable. There’s a lot of tactics involved, and discoveries which keep things interesting. Denzel kicks ass as usual, and I’ll watch the movie just to see him in action! I wouldn’t highly recommend the movie, but it’s worth seeing if nothing else better is on.
