Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006)
I wasn’t really amused at Ice Age: The Meltdown. The theater wasn’t really packed, but I could hear the children present having fun watching this new release ~ I just couldn’t get into the mood I suppose =( The story revolves around Manny opening a nekiddie animal play place in a huge basin in the Ice Sheet region somewhere. Within the basin, lotsa animals live together in total peace and harmony ~ not sure why they wouldn’t eat each other, but… I suspended my disbelief.
Then, one doomsday animal was selling some doomsday preparation stuff, and one of his prediction was that the sea ice wall is about to collapse soon and all of the basin will be washed away in a hurry! After confirmation by Sid and Diego, the whole basin filled animal life start migrating to another part of the basin where a gigantic ark is. … Along the way, Manny’s depressed mood about being the last mammoth worsen when he found another mammoth who think of herself as a … flying squirrel? … It just went well beyond the realm of believability, and I simply couldn’t enjoy any of it. None of the jokes were funny to me, and I was simply disgusted with the movie.
I wouldn’t recommend this movie to anyone over the age of 10. That’s about it.
