Fun with Dick and Jane (2005)
A remake of 1977 movie, Fun with Dick and Jane stars the symbol of movie funny, Jim Carrey along side of Téa Leoni. It’s a very basic premise, and the variation lies in the execution of the film and the prowess of the actors — and overall, I think it worked out.
Dick (Carrey) and Jane (Leoni) was a married couple living the life of the average suburbanite. When Dick faced an assured promotion and all the benefits entailed, Jane quit her job, ordered an upgrade to the backyard, and did everything she ever wanted to do for the family. However, life took a decided bad turn, and instead of mucho dinero, they suddenly find themselves fighting for every dime ~ literally.
I remember years ago, when I first watched Carrey’s Ace Ventura going crazy on screen, I laughed and laughed at the antics. I suppose I’ve outgrown the man’s outspoken expression since then, and did not find the film quite as funny as my friend. Carrey and Leoni did their job admirably, but most of the jokes just didn’t reach me =( Not to say it’s bad, since I enjoy the story and found various situations quite amusing, but … I dunno.
*sighs* damn my funny bones! I’ll just say the movie is average ~ so, take it as is!
