Update on Life 01/27/2006

Today is my father’s birthday. How quickly time flies, for I remember distinctly, that I called him last year at this time and wished him well. Just the same, life hasn’t changed one bit – school, research, anime, book, and life in general. But something must change – else life would be impossible to live! I figure, the changes are “what” brings me pleasure. No ~ not changes in life, but the things that brings me happiness changes. Mmm, same difference? I don’t know!

Let’s start with Xbox 360 – all the games can be played online, and it’s damn easy to do. Everyday after I got it, I would turn it on, and play with people. And I would keep playing, until the sun comes up. That wasn’t a healthy life style, so I turned the Xbox 360 over to Po to safekeeping until the gold membership expires. … doesn’t make sense to me either. So why exactly did I want a Xbox 360?! It’s actually a secret! Anyway, I suppose without Perfect Dark Zero, I wouldn’t be as addicted to the damnable system ~ so I’d probably take it back since he isn’t playing it either.

Moving on to Lonesome Dove ~ a book recommended by Linda. It’s a western that I borrowed from the library over a month and half ago. I started reading it slowly, page by page – and I have to admit, it was difficult to get through some pages since I wasn’t used to the style of writing. Then, Lorena came into the picture – for some reason, I love reading about exotic beautiful girls ~ sirens that attract men like bees to honey. So, with Lorena as the central figure of the book, I start to devour the book. Actually, I couldn’t go fast enough to sate my desire to know what’d happen to Lorena, so I started skipping ahead and ruined the whole book for myself. *kusu*

Then we have anime. A lot of anime finished these past few weeks. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s was one of them ~ I should write something on that as a reminder. Mmm, Fate Stay/Night began, and Saber is good. Shakugan no Shana started a new arc with Shana’s background as the focal point. Bleach went into filler mode after Aizen went up into hollow world. Aria is about to end, taking its peaceful effect with it (second season though, is announced)! Black Cat is… well, Train is fighting against some dude that’s like invincible and gay. Mai Otome – mmm, I think they’re about to BATTLE DANCE! YA! I love the idea of battle dancin, it’s so cool =) Solty Rei – well, after Rose’s identity crisis, she is currently fighting against a very heavy concrete block. Noein – who knows where the hell it’s headed, the dragon torque doesn’t work half the time, and everyone is changing… for the worse. The music is good I suppose. Rozen Maiden — well, I think I’m going to wait for the last few episodes to be fansubbed before touching it again ~ last I knew, Souseiseki got her rosa mystica taken away is about to croak, I didn’t want to wait dance about while waiting for unreliable subs to be released. Kagihime - a new anime, cute, but… … I don’t know if I’d continue watching girls with super poofy hair and book fetish. Hantsuki, I just found out it’s a 6 episode OAV ~ guess will have to wait long time in between each story about the hepatitis boy. Lastly – Romaiya senpai! AHH! He is the MAN of men! Just wanted to make a note of that for Honey & Clover.

Yes, I watch too many anime. But I also started watching a Showtime original series called “The L Word” – it’s the story of about 5… to 10? lesbians living in Los Angeles and trying to get by. It’s pretty interesting, but I’m having problems with believing it’s supposedly real life. The… things that are coming into Jenny’s life is somewhat unbelievable. Perhaps I just don’t have broad enough vision!

As for schoolin and education – Anatomy is a fun class for sure, and I’m having fun learning all these parts ~ unfortunately, it’s really mostly just flash cards. Fun and useful facts, but memorization all across the board nonetheless. Hopefully, this will help in the future with the dental school’s gross anatomy.

Ah, in terms of Dental school – instead of NYU, I got word from Boston that they’d take me! It’s not cheaper by any means, but the quality of education is sure to be better! Instead of sitting amongst 268 students straining to hear the professor or follow their handiworks, it’d only be amongst 118. A good change ~ a good change! Well, the only problem is the fact that NYU will be swallowing my 500 dollar deposit, and Boston wants 2 grand advances by mid Feb and another grand by March. Damn they are money hungry! No wonder people suspect dentists to be evil money grabbing demons. Air Force people are wondering about my physical ability though – my irregular pulse rate got them all in a jitter, wondering if I’m about to die. Hopefully, they’d over look it, else I’m going back to Tampa for an appeal possibly.

I’m not really doing a lot of research nowadays. Since I’m leaving in May, I’ve started teaching my techniques of maggot dissection to a sophomore (as of yesterday). Rachel is a honor student, M&M major, and loves ballroom dancing(?). I don’t know ballroom dancing still exist other than the TV show. I guess I’m just not classy enough ^_^ Anyway, she doesn’t seem to like the squirming maggots that simply won’t die ~ yup, even after she ripped them in half, they be still twitching… apparently, girls aren’t too fond of such a thing. If I remember correctly, I was somewhat troubled as well… maybe I’m a girl. Wait… a moment of epiphany ~ oh my god, I’m lesbian identified man! I just know it!

Heh, I wonder what I’d think of what I just wrote 10 years from now.

So anyway, I hope she’d get used to killing maggots, and having maggots haunt her dreams. I’m sure used to the fact that even though there are no fruit flies anywhere in this house, they’d magically appear out of my kitchen trash can if I leave it alone for long enough. Yup, my trashcan can produce maggots ~ spontaneous generation ^_^

That’s about it for this update~! And Linda, “maggot” is not that bad a word. It’s like maggie got something!
