OMG, I gotta kill me some 3rd instars today!

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Earlier this evening, I finished A Feast for Crows and prepared myself for a romp back to the lab to visit my cute Drosophila melanogasters. Of course, I took my sweet time, not wanting to sit through another 2 hours of neck-breaking exercise in extreme patience. The day before, BlockBuster had called informing [...]

Sarah’s Poem

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

My name is Sarah
I am but three,
My eyes are swollen
I cannot see,
I must be stupid,
I must be bad,
What else could have made
My daddy so mad?
I wish I were better,
I wish I weren’t ugly,
Then maybe my Mommy
Would still want to hug me.
I can’t speak at all,
I can’t do a wrong
Or else I’m locked up
All the day [...]

Alexander (2004)

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

The story of Alexander the Great, a story of more than 2300 years old, was passed on through words of mouth and scripts of questionable origin. The director, Oliver Stone, had plenty of wiggle room to make the movie of a legendary man, a great movie — however, the insane director had to… do [...]

Robert’s Wedding

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

Robert and Shyla got married earlier today on the Royal Carribean’s Mariner Of The Seas. Congrats to them =)
Personally, I dislike cruises. The cabins are always too cramped and I’m always dizzy onboard of cruises. But then, I guess I haven’t really been on any cruise where I didn’t have adults supervising [...]

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (PS2/Xbox)

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

A long time ago, I loved Mortal Kombat 2 with a passion. After Street Fighter, it was the coolest game on SNES and I mastered the sucker with a passion. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks modeled itself after the classical game, and made it into a 3D adventure game similiar to “Double Dragon” or [...]

Maple Story (PC)

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

I found Maple Story on November 5th, about 20 days ago. And since then, I’ve played a magician and levelled him up to 35 with speciality in lightning and ice and I also levelled a warrior to 16 (to enter into the iPod Nano contest). But since 5 days ago, the desire [...]

Lectures ??-??

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

I don’t know what lecture numbers we’re on, and I’m too lazy to look nowadays =) I’ve been skipping, that’s about it ~! Unfortunately, all the skipping been catching up on me. On my Human Physiology Test #3, I only scored 36/58. Yup, 62% only. I failed miserably… Ah [...]

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

I lost count of how many times I fell asleep during this movie. Adam, this is one of the worst movie I have ever seen. It is a totally waste of 2~3 hours I’ve spent on watching it. I HATE this movie. It’s a torture to watch, and it’s a completely [...]

Kingdom of Heaven (2005)

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

Orlando Bloom is not a natural born leader of epic battles. Really, he isn’t. He might be a kickass archer, but it’s up to someone else to lead. He does not look good — grummy and covered in blood. He doesn’t sound good, trying to work the masses up to battle. [...]

The book vs the game vs the anime

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

I really don’t know how to divide my time up these past few days. Last week, I mentioned something or another about Maple Story, and yeap, I’m playing it now. My little magician is level 22. It’s a very simple 2D game that would remind you of… Mario 1 ? [...]

Oil Change II – It’s lefty loosey!

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

After lunch at Little Saigon earlier today, I started changing my oil again under supervision of Po. Well, I didn’t have any tools at home, so had to depend on him for a wrench, oil twisty thing, and an oil pan. It went a lot smoother today definitely – quick removal, drain the [...]

Lab 12

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

It’s finally the last step in the four step synthesis. Today, we make 1,2,4,5-tetraphenylnapthalene from tetraphenylcyclopentadienone. Today’s lab was the most pain inthe butt of all the steps. We had to reflux the charges for an hour, while dripping the reactants in manually… drop by drop… until the reactants are all gone.
Grr… [...]
