Lab 10
The second step of the 4 step multisynthesis. Lab 10 takes the benzoin we made last week, and turns it into benzil via oxidation reaction with nitric acid. Nothing much to talk about this lab, except when we’re doing the reflux, we had to cap the top and the fume that’s coming out had to be redirected into a sodium hydroxide bowl.
Filter, then recrystalization, not a difficult lab again.
