The lab work is trivial as always. Quiz today sorta overwhelmed me though – gotta start preparing for it seriously.

Test today. It should be easy… more than half is multiple choice.

The test on Monday will cover everything up till what we talked about today. It’s going to be pretty damn hard – took the practice test and only got 30/50 right.

We chugged along and didn’t do any review for the test in detail. Hopefully, it won’t be too difficult on Monday. Test will cover chapter 1-6, and depending on how detailed it’s going to be, I guess I’d adjust the efforts thrown into this class =)

Today, we had an investigative type of experiment, exploring how to use steam distillation to produce eugenol and water as codistillate. The setup is basically the same as simple distillation with minor alterations and changes. We basically boiled cloves, and wait until the eugenol condenses on the receiving end.

All we did today was go over what we did on Monday by examining all the different culture plates and tubes. Unfortunately, our unknown turned out blank across the board, and everything didn’t pan out as expected. Maybe we went too fast!

Test is on Friday ~ excitement is in the air, as Dr Selby announced over 50% failed the easy quiz. Hope of passing for the majority of the class is low. Heh.
