The Interpreter

The only reason why The Interpreter is any good at all is because of Nicole Kidman. I don’t know how the touch up people does it, but at 38, she still look mid 20ish.

The Interpreter went through volume full of conversation that made very little impact in the overall scheme of things because I don’t think a lot of people give a damn about the situation in Africa. Well, personally, I hear about it so little in the news in comparison to Middle Eastern part of the world, it’s hardly a concern! It’s hard to care about a country when evidence of the inhumanity is hardly shown. It’s hard to get riled up, wanting the Doctor guy dead if he hasn’t been as evil as Silivia presents.

Basically, the story goes as following: Silivia is a translator working at UN, and one night after hours, she overhears some key conversation and those who said the words, made her. So, they go through a segment where they suspect her to be a part of the scheme, to protecting her, then a tad of romance. The story of Silvia’s family is revealed later, but it’s just… hard to care very much about them.

Anyway, it’s a really bad movie in my opinion. Action sequences are almost non-existant, and I didn’t buy the story for a sec. Kidman is sexy, that’s the only plus of the movie.
