Gradius V
There’s a saying in Chinese “Outside of the sky, there exist another sky.” It doesn’t translate well, but the basic equivalent in English would be, “there’s always someone better.” I found Gradius V yesterday while I was browsing something… I saw an advertisement for Ikaruga. The game looks great, and I wanted to try it out for just a bit, but found out it’s only for GameCube/DreamCast.
Since I don’t have either system, I went to read the GameFAQs.com forum about the game, and see what people says about it. In the forum, someone said, Gradius V is better. I looked up Gradius V and lo, it’s available for PS2. So, I tried it out tonight just real quick, and wow, I was surprised at the difficulty. So I went back on the forum, and found a thread with someone playing the game on loop 13 or something. I wasn’t familiar with the terminology, but I checked out the video anyway.
It’s pure insanity.
For those of you that knows about the Gradius series, or similiar – it’s a side scrolling space shooting game that depends on your reflex. You dodge bullet while delivering fatal blows. Usually, you win because your ship is just way more powerful!… I really have no words to describe the gamer that made these series of videos. It’s just… I’m humbled. Take a look –
