Man on Fire
Denzel Washington, Creasy, plays an ex-special force guardian of Pita, played by Dakota Fanning. You know she’d get kidnapped, but what you don’t know, is how it’d play out! Of course, it’s the journey that always matters and how you relate to the players. Creasy and Pita both got along so well together, I understand why Creasy could withstand anything the baddies sent his way and how he could deliver the cruel and unusual punishments. He is serving up justice, and I like it!
I didn’t really know anything about the movie when it started — all I know is the girl will be kidnapped and Creasy is supposed to save her somehow! What I didn’t know, is she gets killed. That was a surprise ~ she is so sweet on screen! Almost as cute as Mei Mei. So, Creasy goes into revenge, and starts killing everyone that were involved in the kidnapping and profit from it. The corrupted police, the lawyer, the father, and the kidnappers! Yup, even the father was a part of the whole deal.
The movie ended with Creasy trying to find the head honcho behind all the kidnapping. Creasy got to his brother and his wife, and on the phone, found out that little Pita was still alive! Creasy traded his own life and the honcho’s brother’s life for lil Pita, and the story ends. It was a touching moment, but I think it could’ve been better. I blame Tony Scott, he is the suxxor.
